Basic Grade

In this one week course you will be instructed in working with the engineers’ ruler using tenths and hundredths, how to calculate basic quantities, working with elevations, figuring cut or fill to finish grade and subgrade. Topics also include how to interpret and work with grade stakes, while learning the basic grade setting and the staking process. In the field you will be trained in how to use optical levels, lasers, eye levels, levels, standard rods, and lenker rods. You will also get a basic introduction to plan reading.

Course Objective

Learn to use the basic tools and principles required to understand the basic staking and plan reading process.

Equipment Required: Hardhat, safety vest, work clothes, work boots.
